I definitely have a special passion for ceilings. Here, with this photo gallery, I propose ceilings from different parts of the world and different kinds of interiors: churches, mosques, theaters, historical buildings.
Walking Around Gezi Park
I just came back from Gezi Park. This small area of Istanbul is now the headquarter of a serious protest agains the national government. I report my experience of walking around the park with my photo-camera, and share with everyone what I could see.
Tuna Auction
Tuna auction at the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo was a very particular experience. I arrived very early in the morning, during a rainy and hot day of august. I did not know if it was forbidden or not to assist the auctions, but when a man came and aggressively threatened me with a hook, I understood it was going to be a “tough shooting”.
Berlin
It’s not easy to be described, but I found Berlin a place where a big contrast is still permeating all around: from one side there is the new “post-wall” Berlin with its modern architectures, reconstructed museums and futuristic squares; from the other one, there is the old Berlin with its history of Nazism and war – the real one, as well as the “cold one”…
Hidirellez
Last night I went to Ahırkapı, in the Istanbul’s Fatih district, to assist (and participate) to the Hıdırellez. This is a very interesting event, which celebrates the meeting on earth of the prophets Hızır (Al-Khdir) and İlyas (Elijah), and that today is seen as the arrival of spring or summer.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate

This is the holiest center of the Orthodox Christian Church throughout the world and it is one of the most …
Shapes from an Istanbul landscape
There are many ways to explore Istanbul. From a walk along the Bosphorus, to a visit of its most famous landmarks, or even looking people along its crowded streets: every situation works, simply because Istanbul has many different souls, that there is not a n unique way to “feel” the city.
Ceilings of the Palais Garnier
The Palais Garnier, better known as “L’Opera”, is a stunning building in the heart of Paris. Beyond its history and its “mystic” atmosphere, what hit me most were its decorations – especially its ceilings. There is no one single corner without a maniacal attention for details; sometimes I had the feeling that there was even …
Children of Balat
Balat is a very interesting area of Istanbul. I cannot say that it is representative of the city, simply because the city has too many different souls, which sometimes are even conflicting. But I can certainly say that it is a very authentic suburb, meaning with “authentic” something of extremely genuine, true, sincere, simple… therefore …
Paris
Everyone, photographer or not, has a good reason to visit Paris. No need to say that the capital of France is one of the most beautiful city of the world, and it is definitely impossible to remain indifferent walking around its “arrondissement”…
